Warren Coalition is pleased to offer a number of opportunities for unpaid internships and volunteer positions:
Communications Internships
Because of the wide range of programs the Coalition offers, we are able to build a communications internship that is tailored to your interests and offers you incredible resume-building opportunities. Every internship requires drafting graphics, video, and text for social media postings on Facebook and Instagram. Beyond that, interns may write media releases and blog posts, plan and execute events, and develop media campaigns from start to finish. They also have the opportunity to engage with local businesses in various ways.
Internships are available to high school students who are seniors or second semester juniors, or college students working towards an applicable degree. Strong research and writing skills are required. Although our internships are unpaid positions, we are happy to work with your college or high school to ensure you can complete the internship for credit. We accept one intern at a time. You must have your own transportation. Please email your resume and letter of interest to Celeste Brooks.
Other Internships
We are not currently accepting health field-related internships at this time. If you are interested in an internship in this area for the fall of 2026, email your resume and letter of interest to Celeste Brooks.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are a valued part of the Coalition’s work. In fact, we can’t accomplish our mission without them! Contact us if you are interested in any of the following opportunities, or complete our online volunteer application:
- Board Members: Attend quarterly meetings, serve on at least one committee, volunteer at two events annually, and help guide the work of the Coalition. Learn more.
- Mentors for Project COURAGE: Mentors are asked to spend about 30 minutes each week with a child (ages 10-14) to provide support. Learn more.
- Adult Needs Committee: This group of nonprofit and agency representatives gather once each month to work at addressing housing, transportation, food insecurity, and/or other topics as needed. We seek to support what is already happening whenever possible, rather than starting a new program.
- Children & Families Committee: This is primarily a committee of Coalition employees and members, though others are welcome to attend. The committee meets every month that the Coalition Board does not meet. They provide input and ideas to children and family programs that the Coalition is organizing, such as Celebrate Kids Day.
- Let’s Get Cheesy Committee: This is the only event that is intended to be a fundraiser. It is a fun-filled casual event held on the first Friday in June. We welcome those interested in helping to plan, obtain donations, promote, and run the event.
- Development Committee: Members plan fundraising programs and activities, and actively seek Annual Sponsors and event sponsors.
- Celebrate Kids Day: Always held the last Sunday in September from 1 pm to 4 pm, this event has grown tremendously over the years, bringing in over 540 children in 2025. We need 75+ volunteers to make the event happen each year. If you are interested in helping to plan Celebrate Kids Day or volunteer on the day of the event, let us know!
- Warren County Unplugged: This community-wide event is held on the same weekend as the Global Day of Unplugging, the first weekend in March each year. We need assistance in reaching out to businesses to participate, obtaining donations, and promoting the event. The Youth Unplugged Party, hosted by Warren Coalition and Warren County Parks & Recreation, is part of this event, and it requires about a dozen volunteers.
- Office Tasks: For the person who prefers to do something that requires a little bit each week but is still flexible. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, thank-you notes, inventory, making copies, sending emails, making phone calls, etc.
- Community/School Events: Volunteers are paired up with one or more staff members to host a table or a tent at a community event or an activity provided in Warren County Public Schools.
