There is one prize for the winner of each category: Fundraising, Time, Challenges, and Overall. Play Favorites is sponsoring our entire Family Division and is providing one $50 gift card for each winning family. There are also State Park day passes provided by Shenandoah River State Park.
Each person on an Adult Division team will receive a prize when their team wins a category. These may be physical items from donors and/or gift cards. They are valued at approximately $25 per person (for the Challenges and Time categories) up to $50 per person for the Overall Champions. The Fundraising champions also receive a gift of appreciation for each person, valued at $15.
It is up to you, but we would recommend you register in the Adult Division.
We personally know a lot of folks who can’t afford it! That’s why we’ve set up this fundraiser as something anyone can participate in. You can ask others to sponsor you, just as you would for a walk-a-thon. If ten of your family and friends contribute $10, the cost is covered! We give you a pledge sheet and an online web page to help you raise funds. We also have a few folks who have offered to contribute to teams that are short of the goal.
No, if your team prefers to just pay the $100 entry fee and not fundraise, that is perfectly fine.
Lots of fun, challenges, laughter, games, T-shirts, and food for up to four people for the Adult Division, or up to five people for the Families Division.
The funds support all of our programs in general by helping us bridge gaps between what our grants will fund and what we actually need to run a program. For example, the salaries of our staff for Project COURAGE are covered by grants, but we also provide financial support to the families enrolled in the program when needed, to help provide a safe, stable home environment for the children. Those funds usually come from donations, not grants.
You can find the schedule here.

No, if you want to participate as a team of two, you are welcome to do so. In the Adult Division, if you want to have more than four, you can, but only four will receive T-shirts. The same applies to the Family Division, but the limit is five people who will receive T-shirts.
Keep in mind that the challenges are set up for four people. If you have more than that, some will not be able to participate (or they can for fun, but their scores won’t count). If you have fewer than four, there some team members may have to complete a challenge twice to ensure fair scoring.
