A Global Day of Unplugging Event

Warren Coalition is calling everyone in Warren County to participate in the Global Day of Unplugging from sundown, March 1st to sundown, March 2nd. This is a day created by Unplug Collaborative, set aside for people to disconnect from phones and re-connect with themselves, nature, and especially with friends, family, and community—in person!

Studies have shown that smart phones, especially in relation to social media, have had a negative impact on our mental health and overall wellbeing. The U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, has deemed loneliness and isolation an epidemic in the US, publishing an advisory around it in May of 2023. The reliance on smart phones and social media for communication have contributed to this sense of loneliness.

To help keep you and your family engaged IRL (in real life) during the 24-hour Day of Unplugging, organizations and businesses throughout Warren County are providing special sales, activities, and events from sundown on Friday, March 1st, through sundown on Saturday, March 2nd.

Sign Up for the Warren County IRL Challenge

Complete this form to show your intention to be phone-free during the Global Day of Unplugging. We will send you information about local activities and events taking place that day. Plus, you will be entered into a drawing for prizes!

That’s right, prizes! Since we know that the idea of going 24 hours without your phone can be a bit intimidating, we are offering some incentives. Signing up enters you into the drawing immediately. Each activity you participate in will provide you with a chance to sign up for additional entries.
